Thomas Tuchel Expresses Disappointment Over Wembley Fan Atmosphere Despite Emphatic Win Over Wales.

Thomas Tuchel voiced his sadness that the Three Lions team did not enjoy stronger encouragement from the Wembley spectators during their impressive 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday evening.

The manager was pleased to see his side showcase their winning momentum, with strikes from Morgan Rogers, Watkins, and Saka inside the initial stages deciding the match. But, he was not content with the energy at the national stadium.

“With one and a half sessions to get ready against a drilled team and we excelled,” the coach stated. “We could have been five goals ahead at half-time. We missed the fourth and fifth ones. There was little noise. There was no any energy back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“What more can you give in 20 minutes? We didn’t let them escape. When you only hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the squad earned more support today.”

“I stand by this statement. We cannot do more than being three goals up in a derby. I hoped for a bit more backing in moments where it is challenging.”

“In the second half, to get behind us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It might have aided us to regain energy, but that’s football and so be it.”

Selection Choices Justified by Performance

Away from risking a fight with supporters, Tuchel also raised eyebrows by excluding Bellingham and Phil Foden from his squad. However the choice was backed up by Rogers impressing again in the attacking midfield role and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“He plays his game,” Tuchel explained. “He is a No 10 and he is fighting for his spot.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Lessons from Loss

The Wales manager expressed hope that his team, who host a strong Belgian side in a important qualifying match on Monday, take lessons from their disappointing performance in the opening period.

“That’s the reason I scheduled this match,” Bellamy said. “I wanted to assess our current level. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? This performance fills me with drive.”

Injury Concern for Striker

Watkins was withdrawn at half-time after hitting a goalpost and is a concern when England face their next opponents in Riga in a qualifier on Tuesday.
